Adorable cat, very polished style. Love that the cat is able to meow (interactivity not central to gameplay is great). Mechanics are easy to use - doesn't feel like I'm fighting the controls and could focus on the game itself. The map is a nice puzzle to figure out. It's clear which things need to be avoided, and I really appreciate the autosave intervals. Both style and gameplay come together for a light, relaxing platformer. I'd download and play it if it were a mobile game, probably.

  • Does the design of the Itch.io page make you want to play the game?
    • Absolutely! It looks polished and cute!

  • What were the strongest points of this game in your opinion?
    • The cutscenes were my favorite part. Some of them even had me tearing up! I thought the narrative and story of the game was SUPERB. Compliments to storyboard and narrative designer! Also, it wouldn’t be the same without the artist who made the cat. Amazing!

  • If you could change one thing about the game, what would it be?
    • I’ve spent a fair amount of time working with platformers myself, so I know how hard it is to make them smooth and non-glitchy. However, one thing I would do is simplify the levels a little bit. It feels like you’re in a sort of maze and you’re just sort of doing your best to traverse through the dead ends and pitfalls. Giving a smoother, more linear pathway I think would make the game a little more thought-provoking and a little less stressful to play.

  • Do you have any words of encouragement for this team?
    • This is 100% the best out of the 4 games I reviewed! I’m already in love with the cat protagonist. Poor thing when he came home to another cat! Reincarnation ending was unexpected but quite adorable, nevertheless. Again, awesome, awesome job from the whole team!

I love the color pallet you used it is really nice and interesting. Everything about this page makes me want to download and play it right now.

Their game was super polished and neat and the surprising part of it was the incredible artwork behind it. It looked really detailed and showed that you actually spent a lot of time on it.

I'd add a mute button for the music. Not that it is not interesting, but it would have been a great feature. Do you have any words of encouragement for this team? Keep up the good work. You guys really did nice on this game. I loved the artwork and dedication you put behind this. It was an amazing game

Does the design of the Itch.io page make you want to play the game?

Yes, immediately. the screenshots looked cool, the formating of the page looked nice. I liked the banner that was included at the top, and how it very clearly shows what the game is and how it'll feel without need to read the description.

What were the strongest points of this game in your opinion?

I WOULD DIE FOR THIS CAT. The story nearly made me cry, and the music made it really hard not to cry. I really liked the platforming, even though it got repetitive I still kept playing for the story. The controls were nice. But I think the most helpful thing was how convenient and generous the checkpoints were throughout the game.

If you could change one thing about the game, what would it be?

well first, I can see the squares and the gravity lines and stuff. But in terms of genuine feedback, I think adding a jump animation could look nice, and a sound effect or two for the cutscenes could help them be just a tiny bit engaging.

WOWOWOWOWWOWOWWOWOWOWWOWOW this is probably one of the best games that I've playtested for this assignment. It's VERY polished, and the story was great. I hope you had fun working on it! I had a lot of fun, and emotions.
